22nd Smrikva Bowl 2017 Presentation Letter - Smrikva Bowl Ambassador's Day - ("SBA") Day
Dear Smrikva Bowl and Smrikve friends!
It was 1996 when the Smrikva Bowl story started… and today is time to open the 22nd annual candidacy process…
How to summarize the first two decades?
… maybe a good start would be to mention around 1700 kids and life stories spread in 78 countries who played the event since 1996…
…over 800 signed books in the Smrikva Bowl library from 65 country (started in 2009)…
… over 1200 names given to 12 old Smrikva Bowl olive trees (started in 2005)…
… 23 junior GRAND SLAM titles since 2009… 14 professional ATP/WTA titles since 2014… 9 players reached TOP 100 ATP/WTA Club… 2 players are members of the TOP 10 ATP/WTA Club… there are numerous victories over the last decade in the most prestigious under 12, 14, 16, 18 tournaments around the World…
… but Smrikva Bowl story to me was always more then numbers and more then tennis… and I am gratful to the Smrikva Bowl players, families, coaches, friends who in most different ways inspire me to do better and help my family and friends to go beyond our imaginations…
I like to repeat myself from time to time… it is teaching I learned from Rafiki in Lion King “that a story we like should be repeated more then once” ;)… and I am saying this for those who know me well and will find most of my thinking already known ;D…
It is the 21st of September 2016… and it is the selection date start for the 22nd Smrikva Bowl 2017 edition…
I will also take the opportunity to recall that the 3rd Smrikva Bowl Tennis Talents Family Week (SBTTFW) 2017 edition with Luca Appino will be held from 22nd till 29th of April 2017…
Today is the International Day of Peace, also known as the World Peace Day… and many years ago this date was selected as the Smrikva Bowl Ambassadors Day (“SBA” Day)…
The SBA Day, although celebrated on the same day as the World Peace Day, is dedicated to civilization and tennis. Without civil society in a modern world there is no guarantee for peace… and both civil society and peace are the pillars for any talent development…
In 2005, for the 10th Smrikva Bowl anniversary, we started to plant old Olive tree during Smrikva Bowl Ambassadors Nomination Ceremony. The Olive tree selected had to be older than the oldest man living on the earth today… and during the ceremony, every Ambassador put a tiny piece of land close to the root and donated his/her name to the tree…
The Olive tree is a symbol of good will in various cultures… and his age in Smrikve is symbol of intergenerational responsibility. Intergenerational responsibility alone will allow future generations to enjoy the beauty of life, the sunsets and the seasons of the earth.
Smrikva Bowl is dedicated to children… and cartoons always helped me to speak with children and to be understood better by them… The Lion King is nice one for the Old Olive Tree story that I am pleased to share again on the World Peace Day… the Circle of Life story…
This cartoon is full of life messages which are in line with the Smrikva Bowl dream. They are in line with the message of the Ambassadors’ Olive Tree; they are in line with the values of friendship; they are in line with empathy. Friendship and empathy are both Cosmopolitan values per excellence, as far as people and humanity are concerned.
… and tennis seems to be very linked with love too… 15:love, 30:love, 40:love, love:15, love:30, love:40… love love love ;)… another cosmopolitan milestone…
Let me tell you few more things from the Lion King… the relationship between Mufasa, Sarabi and Simba reminds me of parents and family love, but also the intergenerational responsibility.
Timon, Pumbaa and Simba relationship reminds me about love between friends. Pumbaa also make me think about empathy, intuition and loyalty. The relationship between Simba and Nola reminds me again about the importance of love.
Rafiki, the wise old baboo, with his many centuries old tree reminds me about the importance of knowledge and experience of the older. There are many other particular moments that every person on its own, based on his or her own life experience, discovers by watching cartoon artworks.
…most of the character’s names in this cartoon have a particular meaning in Swahili language: Simba means “lion”; Nala means “gift”, and love is in many cultures one of the greatest gifts that people can receive and give during their life; Sarabi means “mirage”; Pumbaa means “dull-witted” or “stunned”; and Rafiki means “friend” :)…
Every children is born without knowing anything about life on this earth and it is the responsibility of every generation to live and let live…
When Mufasa was explaining to Simba that is not easy to be the King… he told him that a good King should know that everything around us lives in a delicate equilibrium and that with intelligence we should try to understand it and respect it. The intergenerational responsibility is the key to allow future generations to enjoy the beauty of life.
A Nobal Prize for Peace will help me to close this introduction words: “The future is always in a minority. Yet the history of the future is more important than the history of the past. It is for the old to remember the past. It is for the young to build the world of tomorrow.
Do it! You can build a world without wars. You can build a new humanity.”
It is worth bearing in our minds that Peace is always a delicate equilibrium and with intelligence we should try to understand it and respect it. Knowledge, human curiosity and will to learn are important. They are all parts of the civilization path.
Our Nobel Prize guest used in his note the statement: “Do it!” which always reminds me Yoda’s wisdom words when he shares his knowledge with young Jedi: “There is no try. Do or do not ” ;)
Long time ago I learned when people believe in the future there is future…. and when people do not beleive in the future there is no future.
The books represent the greatest human memory that can help us understand what we see combined with cumulated personal experience of our daily lives and this is one of the reasons why we started to build the Smrikva Bowl Library. Given the fragility of the circle of life it is very easy for people to ignore these facts and lose sight of our human knowledge. It takes just a few generations to lose civilisation heritage.
We have gotten used to rapid technological progress, but social and civil progress is more complex. Humans learn throughout their whole lifetime, from books and schools, but we mostly learn from our personal experiences.
And never forget we are those who represent the current civilization.
This is an important concept. Today people live an average of about 80 years. What we call civilization is mostly made up of the human knowledge we have accumulated until today, which our institutions pass onto future generations… and this is another part of the idea hidden behind the Smrikva Bowl Library foundation in 2009…
World Peace Day is always a good day to start the research of the Smrikva Bowl talents for the 2017 edition… and with this e-mail the selection process for the 22nd annual Smrikva Bowl 2017 is open.
22nd Smrikva Bowl 2017 will be held in Pula-Istria, Croatia, from (17th) 19th till 24th of June 2017. Smrikva Bowl, as most of you may know, gathers young tennis talents from all over the World…
When I think of Smrikva Bowl I always imagine it as a theater where every year we work hard to set the stage … Every year we gather very special kids, arriving from different cultures, having different dreams,…
We set the stage and later on they are in charge with their will, dreams and hard work who write the most different stories…
Smrikva Bowl is very young tournament but I always believed that more then one of these kids will write nice and inspiring stories in most different professional fields.
Year after year seems more and more likely that more than one senior Grand Slam Tournament will be conquered by Smrikva children… they already won every junior Grand Slam Tournament… since 2009… there are 19 Smrikva Bowl kids being able to conquere 23 junior Grand Slam Titles in singles and doubles… and my dream and wishes goes beyond Grand Slam dream… being the SBA Day celebrated on a World Peace Day… and having mentioned in my letter the inspiring words of the Nobel Prize for Peace I am pleased to extend Grand Slam dream to more than one Nobel Prize for Peace dream…
I know that according to the statistics only few of the kids participating Smrikva Bowl will become top professional tennis players, but I like to think that they will make it in other professional fields.
I will never know how many kids playing Smrikva Bowl are playing tennis because their parents would like them to become professional tennis players and how much of them play it because they enjoy the game.
What I do know is that any kind of sport can help kids in their growth and I also know that people that do excel in any field need full dedication and a lot of sacrifice to reach and master the excellence.
In every life there are people that influence what we do and how we do it.
The Smrikva Bowl tennis talent gathering aims to inspire its Ambassadors to believe in their dreams and work hard to reach them.
Many people come to Smrikve with different expectations… not understanding that the result is not the key of the Smrikva Bowl… and I always need Smrikva Bowl Ambassadors’ help in explaining that Smrikva Bowl is a bit different and that common sense and respect come first…
There is a detailed presentation of the 22nd Smrikva Bowl 2017 edition with the application form and other relevant information on the main page of the Smrikva Bowl website:
http://www.smrikve.com/smrikva-bowl/
I am pleased to recall that 21st Smrikva Bowl 2016 gathered top players from over 40 countries and all the continents…
Since the tournament foundation in 1996, around 1700 top players from 78 countries played in the event… This year… was the 3rd time that over 50% of participants accepted were ranked #1 in their countries…
Smrikva Bowl “more than tennis” idea… will not be explained… will remain left to the interpretation of each Ambassador… of their feelings because in end they are the one who are writing the Smrikva Bowl story… my only wish is that huge percentage of the interpretation may match my dream…
As I wrote above, in 2005 we started to plant old olive trees during the Ambassadors’ nomination ceremony… and there are 12 special olive trees in Smrikve with over 1200 names from all around the World…
In 2009 the cultural tourism guide “Istria from Smrikve” was published and this is a gift to the Smrikva Bowl Ambassadors and Smrikve friends… SBA are helping us in scouting talents around the world and our little Ambassadors also help us in spreading the word about Istria as cultural tourism destination worth visiting…
That same year, Smrikva Bowl participants started to bring a book about the culture of the place they are coming from thus we started to create Smrikva Bowl Library… from time to time we are also using the library as classroom for “La Bottega” di Smrikve students… donated book form a library of over 810 books from 65 countries…
Cosmopolite is another gift to Smrikve and our Ambassadors. It is dedicated to a book describing the importance of civilization for the talent development.
Many of you are our Ambassadors and I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the number of the accepted players will be 96 players (48 girls and 48 boys) and your help will be precious.
If you know a good tennis player born in 2007 that deserves to play Smrikva Bowl or you wish to present your candidacy for the 3rd SBTTFW 2017 please let me know…
I am pleased to recall that since the Smrikva Bowl foundation nine players reached TOP 100 ATP and WTA and their best ranking at the moment is the following: Belinda BENCIC (#7 WTA), Dominic THIEM (#7 ATP), Marin DRAGANJA (#20 ATP doubels), Borna CORIC (#33 ATP), Petra MARTIC (#42 WTA), Ajla TOMLJANOVIC (#47 WTA), Ana KONJUH (#55 WTA), Donna VEKIC (#62 WTA), Ivana LISJAK (#95 WTA)…
… for the end of this long presentation letter of the 22nd annual… being today World Peace Day… I wish Smrikva kids to continue to inspire by example other children… and wish some of them may make true during their living and competing Nelson Mandela – Madiba’s words when he noted that “Sport has the power to change the world, the power to inspire and the power to unite people in a way little else can – it is an instrument of peace.”
Thank you all for your help and attention and special thanks to all the people who return to visit us in Smrikve.

Today we collected grapes and started the 22nd Smrikva Bowl 2017 - Smrikve Malvazija wine production
We just collected grapes and started 2017 Smrikve wine production… the wine collection of limited 160-200 bottles will be made as per tradition… and it will be donated to the families participating the 22nd Smrikva Bowl 2017 edition…
As per tradition we will do our best to make good wine…

Smrikve Malvazija is thanks to the Smrikva Bowl Ambassadors spread in 78 countries and all the continents. Last year we created a limited collection of 160 bottles and never above 200 bottles… it is always a gift of our family to the Smrikva Bowl families and to our friends.

Wine and gastronomy are part of a culture and wine bottle that we give to every Smrikva Bowl family is part of our cultural gift that every year we are pleased to make to our guests coming from all around the World.
The wine making is the tradition in Smrikve since 1957…
The wine production is a passion for many Istrian families and my grandfather Mate was a great lower of wine and wine making. The first thing he made in 1957 when he settled in Smrikve was planting the vineyard.

Probably not many Smrikva Bowl readers do know the story how my grandfather agreed to take out a row of vineyard to create the space for the court where today the Smrikva Bowl finals are played.
My father, me and my Uncle continue the wine making tradition in Smrikve…

Several years ago I bought a vineyard close to the vineyard planted by my grandfather and today my father and me are doing our best to get the best from what Malvasia grapes can give.
The first phase of the processing the grapes started today…

We collected the grapes but also separated the juice of the rest to obtain the golden color that usually our Istrian Malvazija (Malmsey) wine has. Now for two days the fermentation will be blocked to allow the wine to start its transformation process cleaner than it is today after the collection.
In Smrikve we produce Istrian Malvazija (Malmsey) and during the Smrikva Bowl we use to give a bottle of wine to every family as a memory to their Smrikva Bowl. Probably one day this bottles might be something special if our kids continue to love tennis game and continue to write the Smrikva Bowl story with their results.

Wine as part of the culture…
In the regions where the wine is produced the wine was always part of the culture of the particular site. Also the wine we produce is part of the Smrikve tradition and this is the reason why we are pleased to give a bottle to every family that come to visit us for the Smrikva Bowl.

There is an old Istrian saying: ”Vino od loze i mliko od koze” and “Kruh je za tilo a vino je za dušu”. The translation from Croatian is difficult because you loose the feel of the language. Goat is the symbol of Istria and the meaning of the first saying would be: ”Wine from the grapevine and milk from the goat” and the meaning of the second would be: “Bread is for the body, wine is for the soul”.

With todays collection as I said we started the process of transforming the grapes into wine for the 22nd Smrikva Bowl 2017 edition of Malvazija.
The main Istrian wines are: Malvazija, Terran, Refosc and Muscatel.
The glory of the Istrian wine dates back to over 2000 years ago…

For those who are not familiar with Istrian wine I am pleased to remined the reader that Istrian wine was considered one of the best in the Roman Empire, around 20 centuries ago, and was preferred by Livia Drusilla, also known as Iulia Augusta, the wife of the first Roman Emperor Augustus.
Livia Drusilla’s preferred wine was the Istrian wine Pucinum. Livia is considered one of the most influent women in the beginning of the Roman Empire era. It is not know what wine it was because todays wines were brought in Istria mostly by Venitians.
Todays Istrian Malvazija’s story is related with Serenissima… the Venetian Republic

The story of Istrian Malvazija, cultivated in Istria since the end of the 16th century, is fascinating and it relates to the Venetians.
At the beginning of the 15th century the Venetians occupied Peloponnesus in Greece. In the Peloponnesus region there is a town Monemvassia, also named Malvasia. From this town the Venetians started to import the wine into Venice and the other areas controlled by the Venetian Republic.
This wine was so successful and became so famous all over Europe that Venetians decided to plant huge vineyards on the biggest Greek island, Crete.

Between the 16th and 18th century Malvasia become the most important wine in Europe. In 1570 the Turks conquered Crete and Venetians decided to plant Malvasia vineyards in other areas that had friendly relations with Venice which, at that time, also included Istria.

In end Malvasia is in Istria since the above mentioned period while it is not known the sort of the wine that was preferred by the wife of the Emperor Augustus, Livia Drusilla – Julia Augusta.
Giacomo Casanova in his diary talks about another Istrian sort and another great wine…

Giacomo Casanova visited Vrsar several times and in his diary he describes a good wine Refosc and nice women… That Refosc could be Terran too because if you look at the grapes you will hardly note the difference and today Refosc is mostly cultivated in the Slovenian part of Istria while in other areas the dominant sort is Malvasia.

Another excellent wine can be found around Momjan area made of Muscatel sort.
On Istria from Smrikve you can learn much more…

To learn more about Istrian gastronomy and wine please visit the E-book about Istrian cultural heritage on www.smrikve.com/istria/ named “Istria from Smrikve” or join Discover Istria from Smrikve group on Linked In.
The grapes are very nice this year… and the wine should be extraordinary again…
From today… the most important part of wine transformation process starts ;)… and at the beginning of November we will make the first quality level tasting check :)…
Please visit www.smrikve.com to learn more about Smrikve, Istria from Smrikve, Smrikva Bowl, one of the most important under 10 tennis tournaments in the World, and Villa Smrikve and SMRIKVE LOUNGE, for your accommodation with swimming pool in Stinjan (Pula – Pola) if you decide to spent your holiday in Istria, Croatia.

Summer in Smirkve is always time to see old friends... rising talents who return to visit us :D
Summer in Smirkve is always time to see old tennis friends… former Smrikva Bowl players… and children who already started to fall in love with tennis…
During last 3 weeks there were so many friends visiting their “home away from home” :)…
Miro Hrvatin on his road back to China after bringing one of his students to play junior Wimbledon stopped at his SMRIKVE home…
Neven Krivokuca, 10th SB 2005 player, after playing a futures in Macedonia made us a visit after long time… Deni Zmak, 4th SB 1999 runner up, returned from the US to his home town and it was a pleasure to see him on the courts back in Smrikve :)…
… a week after this year Smrikva Bowl… Matic Podlipnik, 15th SB 2010 player, and U12,U14,U16 Slovenian National Champion made us a visit with his family…

Matic is one of Smirkve pupils I started to meet for the first time when he was 8 years old… and I love to share time with him and his family…

… and every visit is an opportunity to create some new good memories with him, Borut and Vesna :)

Milan Gal, from Netherland, I had pleasure to meet for the first time couple of years ago… and we spent a great week together with a lot of little tennis details Milan brought home after this experience…

… new friends… a lot of friendly matches with Tara, Leki, Ivan, Andrej…

… and there is nothing more beautiful then teaching someone who loves to learn something new…

… another young and talents player Nikolas Car, 21st SB 2016 player, visited us various times this summer… Istria is his second home although he is native from Kranj – Slovnia… the same us Milan he likes to learn and experience new elements… and every time we do our best to find something interesting to try on the court…

Andrej Ciric from Belgrade loves tennis a lot… and he loves to spend his summer time in Istria with family… every time he visit Istria he likes to visit us too :) and play some friendly matches with Tara, Leki, Ivan, Milan but this time he had pleasure also to play a sparing match with Marko Nikolic, his tournaments friend from Belgrade and 20th SB 2015 player, who pay us visit with his father last week :D… both Marko and Andrej train at the moment with Dejan Vukojcic…
… and Marko played SB last year and in this year his talent kept growing and he was able to obtain great results in his country…
Andrej is a huge fun of tennis… with various talents and in combination of tennis bright future might be a head of him… it is always a pleasure to listen his observations in relation with talents emerging in his country today…

On the picture is Helena with Nikolas… both who loves to dedicate their time to tennis… and I am pleased to recall with this picture many other kids such as Charlise from Genova (Italy) who starts to love tennis every day more and more… Ana Stojnev from Slovenia, but also many children from Russia such as: Julia, Liza, Sasha, Sonja, Lisa, Andrej who are also dedicating their time with interest to learn more about tennis game and develop new skills…

Jaša Cvek comes from Idria – Slovenia… the same Club where also another Smrikve friends train Luka Miklavčič… and with Joško we have pleasure to develop incorporate some new elements in his already developed skills :)…
There is a big pleasure when you find and master something that a child can bring back home… which will improve his game and become part of his knowledge…

Also Dario Bitorajac and his daughter Romy, SB player, made us a visit… Dario is currently living in Germany… and his daughter moved from Kim Clijsters Academy to the Academy Dario helped to develop in Austria… a very famous one today… and with common story with Smrikva thanks to one of our player… it is Gunther Bresnik Academy in Vienna…
… Dario and Romy came from Austria… and Dario made this picture with Domi for Smrikve after their training week together just few days before coming to Istria… :)

Tara and Jaša after morning session when they had the opportunity to hit together few balls…

The visit of Ivan, Matej Sabanov, 7th Smrikva Bowl 2002 semifinalists and currently ranked #214 on ATP doubles ranking list, with their mother Nada who was last time in Smrikve back in 2002, this was another nice surprise… a short stop at “home away from home” before continuing to another ATP Challenger!!! :D

There are several tennis friends, past SB players, who announced their arrival for August and September :D…
LOVE SUMMER TIME :D and thank you all for paying us a visit…

Smrikva Bowl Library list is updated with over 100 new books donated by 21st SB 2016 generation... there are in total over 800 books from 65 countries...

“Va, pensiero ‘Smrikva’, sull’ali dorate”… “Go, ‘Smrikva’ thought, on golden wings” – borrowed from Giuseppe Verdi
Smrikva Bowl Library list is updated and as of today it contains over 800 books from 65 countries… it is an opportunity to share couple of words related with our library written some time ago but still valid to me…
Smrikve, July 2009 – July 2016
In 2009 we started the building of the Smrikva Bowl library. Each Smrikva Bowl player is requested to bring with him a cultural book that will remember his stay in Smrikve and will represent his culture of origin that one day guests of Smrikve will be able to consult, enjoy and discover.
Smrikva Bowl Ambassadors are today spread in 78 countries and all the continents. Historically their task was to search the talented kids in their countries of origin and invite them to play the Smrikva Bowl but from this year they are also our Cultural Ambassadors.
The old olive tree Smrikva Bowl Ambassadors plant every year is a symbol of friendship and intergenerational responsibility and Smrikva Bowl’s idea of children, sport, music and culture that are able to pass all frontiers are incorporated in the creation of this Smrikva Bowl Library.

I used to write in my first book on European Union and Cosmopolitan Democracy that we are those who represent the current civilization.
This is an important concept. Today people live an average of about 80 years. What we call civilization is mostly made up of the human knowledge we have accumulated until today, which our institutions pass onto future generations.
The books represent the greatest human memory that can help us understand what we see combined with cumulated personal experience of our daily lives.

But given the fragility of the circle of life it is very easy for people to ignore these facts and lose sight of our human knowledge. It takes just a few generations to lose this great heritage.
We have gotten used to rapid technological progress, but social and civil progress is slower and more complex. Humans learn throughout their whole lifetime, from books and schools, but we also mostly learn from our personal experiences.
Smrikva Bowl mission is to develop and spread cosmopolitan values. Love, friendship and empathy are cosmopolitan values per excellence for people and humanity…
Thanks to all Smrikva Bowl players and todays Ambassadors that are helping to build the Smrikva Bowl library.

After the presentation of the actors of the Day… I am pleased to share a little piece of the Smrikva Bowl Ambassadors Day celebrated on 21st of September… because yesterday day we spent on Brioni Islands… once upon a time named the Islands of Peace…
Smrikve, September 2010

The International Day of Peace, also known as the World Peace Day, occurs annually on September 21st and this day has been elected to be also the Smrikva Bowl Ambassadors’ Day.

It is dedicated to peace, or specifically the absence of war, such as might be occasioned by a temporary ceasefire in a combat zone. It is observed by many people. For the first time this holiday was celebrated in 1981.

The Smrikva Bowl Ambassadors Day, although celebrated on the same day as the World Peace Day, is dedicated to civilisation, intergenerational responsibility and tennis. Without civil society in a modern world there is no guarantee for peace.

In 1981 the United Nations General Assembly declared, in a resolution sponsored by the United Kingdom and Costa Rica, the third Tuesday of September (the opening day of regular sessions of the General Assembly) as the International Day of Peace devoted to commemorating and strengthening the ideals of peace and civilisation values.

In 2001, the day was changed from the third Tuesday to specifically the twenty-first day of September. A new resolution was passed by the General Assembly, sponsored by the United Kingdom (giving credit to Peace One Day) and Costa Rica (the sponsors of the original day) to give the Day of Peace a fixed date and declare it as a global ceasefire day.

In 1991, on September 21st, I left Smrikve for Milan, it was the war time in my country, 5 years before, on the same day, in 1986, I sailed with a boat to Dubrovnik with school friends living a nice life time memory experience.

Having our calendar year 365 days if we live for some time and create our own experience we learn that the same day can remind us something nice and something not nice… it is a circle…

Not nice could be compared to a mistake in tennis… we learn from the mistakes. They help us understand what is not good or what we do not do properly…

To end this comment I am pleased to repeat words of a Nobal Prize for Peace who was guest speaker to one of Ambrosetti’s Young Leader Group meetings. It is a tradition that every guest dedicate few words to the Group and he wrote down the following:

“The future is always in a minority. Yet the history of the future is more important than the history of the past. It is for the old to remember the past. It is for the young to build the world of tomorrow.
Do it! You can build a world without wars. You can build a new humanity.”

Everything around us lives in a delicate equilibrium and with intelligence we should try to understand it and respect it. The knowledge, human curiosity and will to learn are important. They are all parts of the civilisation path.

Shimon Peres used in his note the statement: “Do it!” thus reminded me Yoda’s wisdom words when he shares his knowledge with young Jedi: “Try no. Do or do not “ :)
If people beleive in the future there is future. If people do not beleive in the future there is no future.
Miodrag Bozovic

Having introduced some of the actors of the Fourth Day and Lucky Draw Day… I would be pleased to share just few promised words behind Smrikva ;)…

Smrikva Bowl mission is to inspire, develop and spread cosmopolitan values. Love, friendship and empathy are cosmopolitan values per excellence for people and humanity…
What does that mean?…

CULTURE, CHILDREN, SPORT and MUSIC are part of the Smrikva Bowl idea of the cosmopolitan world. It is a matter of civilization …

…a truly wise windy, product of imagination, once whispered… “Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is.” (M.Y.)… and fairy tales seems to help that beauty…
… but I am sure you will cross in the future with the following opinion… “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.” (A.E.)…

I noted that all of you are very calm during hard points… and usually in tennis game, as well as in many other fields, it does not matter what goes wrong but your reaction to it…
… we received special gifts for the Lucky Draw from… Dominic Thiem, Katie Swan, Ana Ivanovic, Borna Coric, Nicolas Kuhn, Tereza Mihalikova, Donna Vekic, Olga Danilovic, Miomir Kecmanovic, Matteo Donati…

… and their success could teach us how fear and anger are for the brain the same as cramps for the muscles…
and… what Master Yoda noted “Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.”…

… in tennis seems to be the same… if you want to win more… you master your skills and believe in your game ;)

There are different ways to look at sport. There are different ways to look at music, culture, love and also to children.

The vision of sport preferred in Smrikve can be described and extended to: culture, music and children using the following Nelson Mandela – Madiba’s words…

… “Sport has the power to change the world, the power to inspire and the power to unite people in a way little else can – it is an instrument of peace.”

… a wise men living in China 2500 years ago once observed… “To put the world in order, we must first put the nation in order; to put the nation in order, we must put the family in order; to put the family in order, we must cultivate our personal life; and to cultivate our personal life, we must first set our hearts right.” … hmmm… sounds very interesting… hm hm :)
an interesting opinion…

… and to set your heart right you need good characters… those who wish to contribute to the greater public good had to begin by working on themselves…

… only then they will see progress radiate out from their personal circles to society at large…

Today is the semifinals day… the BRIONI Islands Day… and IGRA GAME Day :D… a lot to do and a lot to see ;)….
GO SMRIKVA GO!!! :D
