The news on Ciprian junior
Hello Mio,
I hope everything’s fine with you.
I am writing this message in order to inform you and through you the visitors of smrikve.com that Ciprian is doing fine again in ETA U14 tournaments.
Last week he reached the semis at Les Petits As in Tarbes, France, probably the strongest U14 tournament in the world, along the Orange Bowl. He played some great tennis and beat his opponents on the main draw in straight sets, but failed to qualify in the final, losing in the semis to spaniard Carlos Boluda, european champion and ETA no.1 player. On the doubles main draw, playing along fellow Romanian Vasile Ghilea, he again made it to the semifinals, losing to Czech pair Rumler, Vrnak who went on to win the tournament.
Earlier this year, preparing this tournament, Ciprian also played the 6th Realsport Open in Mlada Milovice (Czech Republic). At his first games on hard court this year, he qualified in the semifinals of this competition.
The points earned in January allowed Ciprian to close the gap at only 5 points in the race for the 3rd place on the ETA U14 ranking. Currently, Ciprian is no.4, with 400 points, chasing Lukas Vrnak (Czech Republic), 405 points.
All the best to you, the Smrikva Bowl team and the former palyers of this tournament!
Best regards,
Ovidiu
