Petra Martic showed again her extraordinary talent

Petra Martic, 6th Smrikva Bowl 2001 winner, arrived in the semifinals at USD 10.000 tournament in Cavtat in Croatia. In the semifinals Petra Martic lost from Caroline Maes from Belgium born in 1982 (currently ranked 381 on WTA list) 3:6, 4:6.
In the quarterfinals Petra Martic won against Patricia Mayer from Austria born in 1986 (currently ranked 598 on WTA list) 6:4, 6:4.
In end, it is worth to be mentioned the result of the second round that Petra Martic won against Tina Obrez from Slovenia born in 1986 (currently ranked 503 on WTA list) 6:4, 6:4.
Petra Martic is born in 1991 and is one of the most talented young players in her age group in Croatia.

5th "Little Mo" US team ready for the July 9th 2006 meeting in Pula

The 5th “Little Mo” / Smrikva Bowl will be played in Pula for the 3rd time at the Smrikve Tennis Club on Sunday, July 9th 2006.

Daniel Maese, Aries Wong, Christina Makarova and Gabriella Umoquit have been selected by the MCB Tennis Foundation to represent the United States. Daniel, Aries, Christina and Gabriella are among the top players in their age group in the United States and will play with the Smrikva Bowl finalists the 5th “Little Mo”/Smrikva Bowl.

The 11th Smrikva Bowl 2006 candidates from over 20 countries that presented the application before the deadline 30 april 2006 are accepted to play in the 11th Smrikva Bowl.

Tereza Mrdeza won the Croatian Junior Championship in Cakovec

Tereza Mrdeza, 5th Smrikva Bowl 2000 winner, won the finals of the Croatian Junior Championship against Mateja Horvat, 3rd Smrikva Bowl 1998 winner – 6:2, 6,2.

Tereza Mrdeza won her 5th title of the Croatian Championship. She won in under 10, 12, 14, 16 and this year under 18 age group. In addition, this final was the 50.-iest final in her carrier. An additional fact worth noting is that Tereza never lost in the finals of any tournament she played.

Kristijan Mesaros lost in the finals against Nikola Mektic 5:7, 4:6. Kiki is one of the most talented players in Croatia in his age group and he trains at the Smrikve Tennis Club with Miro Hrvatin.

Croatia won against Argentina in the Fed Cup

Ivana Lisjak, 2nd Smrikva Bowl 1997 winner and top ranked Smrikva Bowl player, played for the first time in the Fed Cup. She did not win but she played very well and confirmed her great talent. The final result was 3:2

Ajla Tomljanovic won the ETA (U14) tournament in Portugal

Ajla Tomljanovic from Croatia won in the finals Jennifer Ren from UK 6:0, 6:1.

Ajla Tomljanovic and Jennifer Ren both played Smrikva Bowl. Ajla Tomljanovic played twice Smrikva Bowl and on the 7th Smrikva Bowl 2002 was runner up and the year latter on the 8th Smrikva Bowl 2003 was ranked third. Ajla also represented Smrikva Bowl team on the 1st “Little Mo”/Smrikva Bowl 2002 that was played in Austin (Texas) and contributed to the victory of the Smrikva Bowl team. Ajla Tomljanovic is one of the most talented player in Croatia in her age group.

Jennifer Ren won the 8th Smrikva Bowl 2003 and represented the Smrikva Bowl team in Texas on 2nd “Little Mo”/Smrikva Bowl 2003. In 2005 Jennifer Ren won OCS Young Sportperson of the Year award. OCS has a long history in supporting sport through the development of young promising sports people. Over the last seven years many of the youngsters who have received sponsorship through the awards have gone on to compete for Great Britain and become accomplished athletes.

Astrid Besser won the ITF junior tournament in Umag - In the Memory of "Petar Rasberger"

Astrid Besser, 4th Smrikva Bowl 1999 winner and ranked 873 on WTA list, won the ITF junior tournament in Umag. In the finals Astrid Besser won Natasa Zoric from Serbia and Montenegro 7:5, 6:2.

Petra Martic, 6th Smrikva Bowl 2001 winner, has to retire in the quarterfinals because of an injury. Petra Martic played in the quarterfinals against Anouk Tigu from the Netherlands.

Tereza Mrdeza, 5th Smrikva Bowl 2000 winner, lost in the 3rd round against Corina Dentonni from Italy 3:6, 5:7.
