Tereza Mrdeza won the U18 ITF junior tournament in Hungary

Tereza Mrdeza, 5th Smrikva Bowl 2000 winner, won the finals of the ITF junior tournament U18 in Budapest. Tereza Mrdeza played in the finals with Killi 1:6, 6:4, 6:1.

Ivana Lisjak reached her best ranking on the WTA list - 95 in the World

Ivana Lisjak, 2nd Smrikva Bowl 1997 winner and top ranked Smrikva Bowl player on WTA list, after reaching the 3rd round of the French Open is for the first time ranked bellow top 100 on WTA list.
Last year, Ivana Lisjak reached 3rd round of the US Open and the 3rd round at this year Roland Garros confirmed Ivana’s talent.

Ivana Lisjak is currently ranked 95 in the World.

Ciprian Porumb jr. played quarterfinals of Romanian National U14 Championships

Ciprian Porumb jr., ranked 3rd on 8th Smrikva Bowl 2003, played in these days the Romanian National U14 Championships. Ciprian jr. lost in the quarterfinals to Sebastian Ionescu, last year’s runner-up and this year’s winner, the highest ranked Romanian in the ETA U14 ranking. On the other hand, Ciprian paired with Ionescu for the doubles and they won the title.

Ciprian Porumb jr. is son of Ciprian Porumb, the forme Romanian Davis Cup player.

Ivana Lisjak finished this year Roland Garros experience in the third round

Ivana Lisjak, 2nd Smrikva Bowl 1997 winner and top ranked Smrikva Bowl player on WTA list (currently ranked 111), lost in the third round of the French Open against Martina Hingins, currently ranked 14 on WTA list. The final result was 1:6, 1:6.

Martina Hingis is one of the top players in the World and it was for a long time World leader on WTA list.

Last year, Ivana Lisjak reached 3rd round of the US Open and the 3rd round at this year Roland Garros confirmed Ivana’s talent and was another top result of her carrier. This result should bring Ivana Lisjak among top 100 players in the World.

Ivana Lisjak, 2nd Smrikva Bowl 1997 winner and top ranked Smrikva Bowl player on WTA list (currently ranked 111), won in the second round of the French Open Jie Zheng from China, currently ranked 40 on WTA list. The final result was 6:4, 6:4.

In the third round Ivana Lisjak will play with Martina Hingis from Switzerland, currently ranked 14 on WTA list and recent winner of Internazionali d’Italia in Rome. Martina Hingis is one of the top players in the World and it was for a long time World leader on WTA list.

Last year, Ivana Lisjak reached 3rd round of the US Open and the 3rd round at the Roland Garros with Martina Hingis is a special moment for her carrier. It should be a great honour for Ivana to have this opportunity to play with Martina.

Tereza Mrdeza arrived in the semifinals of the ITF junior tournament at Santa Croce in Italy

Tereza Mrdeza, 5th Smrikva Bowl 2000 winner and one of the most talented players in Croatia in her age group, arrived in the semifinals of the 28th ITF junior tournament in the italian city Santa Croce.

In the first round Tereza Mrdeza won against Dalila Jukopovic from Slovenia 6:0, 6:1. In the second round Tereza won against Denise Dy from Philippines 6:2, 6:2. In the thirs round Tereza Mrdeza won Michaela Pochabova from Slovak Republic 6:2, 6:1. In the quarter finals Tereza won against Valera Pulido Velasco from Mexico 6:3, 7:5 and in the semifinals Tereza lost from Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova from Russia 5:7, 0:6.

Ivana Lisjak, 2nd Smrikva Bowl 1997 winner and the top ranked Smrikva Bowl winner on WTA list (currently ranked 110), won against Anastassia Rodionova from Russia (ranked 108 on WTA list) 6:2, 6:1.

In the second round Ivana Lisjak will play with Emilie Loit from France. Emilie Loit is born in 1979 and is currently ranked 48 on WTA list. Emilie’s highest WTA ranking was 27 (April 2004).

Petra Martic showed again her extraordinary talent

Petra Martic, 6th Smrikva Bowl 2001 winner, arrived in the semifinals at USD 10.000 tournament in Cavtat in Croatia. In the semifinals Petra Martic lost from Caroline Maes from Belgium born in 1982 (currently ranked 381 on WTA list) 3:6, 4:6.
In the quarterfinals Petra Martic won against Patricia Mayer from Austria born in 1986 (currently ranked 598 on WTA list) 6:4, 6:4.
In end, it is worth to be mentioned the result of the second round that Petra Martic won against Tina Obrez from Slovenia born in 1986 (currently ranked 503 on WTA list) 6:4, 6:4.
Petra Martic is born in 1991 and is one of the most talented young players in her age group in Croatia.

Vilim Visak did not pass the 2nd round of the qualifications at the Zagreb Open (USD 75.000)

Vilim Visak, 1st Smrikva Bowl 1996 winner, passed the 1st round qualifications against Jan Minar 6:2, 7:6. Jan Minar was the last year finalist o the Zagreb Open. In the 2nd round Lovro Zovko won Vilim Visak 6:2, 6:2.

5th "Little Mo" US team ready for the July 9th 2006 meeting in Pula

The 5th “Little Mo” / Smrikva Bowl will be played in Pula for the 3rd time at the Smrikve Tennis Club on Sunday, July 9th 2006.

Daniel Maese, Aries Wong, Christina Makarova and Gabriella Umoquit have been selected by the MCB Tennis Foundation to represent the United States. Daniel, Aries, Christina and Gabriella are among the top players in their age group in the United States and will play with the Smrikva Bowl finalists the 5th “Little Mo”/Smrikva Bowl.

The 11th Smrikva Bowl 2006 candidates from over 20 countries that presented the application before the deadline 30 april 2006 are accepted to play in the 11th Smrikva Bowl.

There will be few places available for the players from the countries that never participated to the Smrikva Bowl until the beginning of the tournament.

The waiting list will be prepared for the other candidates.

Tereza Mrdeza won the Croatian Junior Championship in Cakovec

Tereza Mrdeza, 5th Smrikva Bowl 2000 winner, won the finals of the Croatian Junior Championship against Mateja Horvat, 3rd Smrikva Bowl 1998 winner – 6:2, 6,2.

Tereza Mrdeza won her 5th title of the Croatian Championship. She won in under 10, 12, 14, 16 and this year under 18 age group. In addition, this final was the 50.-iest final in her carrier. An additional fact worth noting is that Tereza never lost in the finals of any tournament she played.

Kristijan Mesaros lost in the finals against Nikola Mektic 5:7, 4:6. Kiki is one of the most talented players in Croatia in his age group and he trains at the Smrikve Tennis Club with Miro Hrvatin.

Kristijan Mesaros will play in the finals of the Croatian Junior Championship. Kiki is one of the most talented players in Croatia in his age group and trains at the Smrikve Tennis Club with Miro Hrvatin.
