A nice Saturday morning at "La Bottega" di Smrikve with Silvia, Andjela, Dasha, Karlo and Max... :)

It was another nice tennis day in Smrikve enjoyed with developing talents…

Dasha, currently ranked #6 ETA under 14, who just won an ETA under 14 in Hungary, after winning couple of ETA under 16 in Bulgary and Austria… returned on the courts today… and proposed a nice game for the Group… a game they like to play in Russia… ;)

... and Andjela, Max, Karlo and Silvia listen carefully the rules…

... and soon after everybody started to enjoy the game :)...

Andjela was the youngest member of the Group enjoying the strokes of the olders…

... everybody played with everybody… rotating partners… and later on the whole class finished with the classic “King” game :)...

... after the class… the relax at La Bottega… can consist of the fact that the older need to be trained to help the younger in their growth… thus knowledge sharing at all the levels is another of the pillars of La Bottega philosophy :)… and I am glad Andjela stayed for an hour to relax helping Andrej’s growth the same as the others were helping her couple of hours before ;)...

... and the exercise continued on the seaside after the classroom… with aim to develop anchoring skills…

Andjela Skrobonja, Smrikva Bowl player, returned to "La Bottega" di Smrikve :)... among others, Karlo Suevich and Antonio Baric are spending some moments in Smrikve too...

Andjela Skrobonja won a year ago the National under 12 Championship in Serbia and started to compete in the under 14 age group… and she likes to visit us with her family and with her coach Lacika to enjoy some tennis time in Smrikve… :)

On the picture below you can see… Karlo Suevich, currently ranked #12 ETA under 14 and also under 14 Croatian Natioanal Champion, Karlo, Max, Ari and Andjela, currently ranked #82 ETA under 14…

On the picture is missing Dasha, currently ranked #6 ETA under 14, who just won an ETA under 14 in Hungary, after winning couple of ETA under 16 in Bulgary and Austria… she is returning on the courts today… ;)...

... and in Smrikve… Karlo, Max, Silvia and Ari are always pleased to exchange balls with returning Smrikva kids :)...

... and every day there is one thing to learn and one thing to teach… just one… ;)... little by little… or step by step… slowly :)...

... and Toni, who just started to compete a year ago, enjoyed some time with me and Andjela in the afternoon…

Matej Sabanov, 7th Smrikva Bowl 2002 semifinalist, currently ranked #670 ATP returned to Smrikve again :)

Matej Sabanov and his brother Ivan played Smrikva Bowl in 2002… and it was a pleasure to see them again this spring in Smrikve… they stayed in Smrikve to play “Istarska Rivijera” Futures…

We spent nice time together at the time at “La Bottega” library… and Matej recently won his first Futures and decided to return for little holiday in Smrikve…

... for couple of days I am enjoying to overview morning practice with Max... and is a great fun for everybody…

and just when Matej arrived… Lara had to go home… actually to Zlatibor mountain for another two weeks tennis camp experience… and the following pictures are from the last days with her group of friends… enjoying to serve a bit…

... during that visit to Rovinj we were lucky to reach Pula while giants were lighting... the shipyard cranes always reminded me of dinosaurs who lived in our area million of years ago… and for all of us was a nice moment :)

There is another talented boy who is visiting “La Bottega” di Smrikve during his vacation in Istria… it is probably one of the most talented kids in Croatia in his age group… born in 2006 with already impressive talent development… Fran Rakonic from Slavonia… it was a pleasure to meet him and spend some time on the court together…

So many nice people and friends visiting Smrikve over the last weeks... Karlo Suevich, Iva Avejic, Luca Appino, Romy Bitorajac, Lloyd, Hazel, Cathal, Milan, Lara, Charlise, Dasha, Chin,... and their families :)

Couple of weeks ago I had pleasure to see again Karlo Suevich... he visited Smrikve with his father and spend some moments playing with our Karlo and Max…

I was impressed by how Karlo grew over the last year :)... he played the last finals of his Smrikva Bowl in 2011 and is currently ranked #15 on ETA under 14 ranking list…

There was another surprise… one afternoon Iva Avejic with her family showed up in Smrikve…

...a surprise visit for a week vacation… she played Smrikva Bowl in 2003… quite some time ago and it was nice to recall some people of her generation…. Ajla Tomljanovic... Dominic Thiem... and also to learn more about his current university :)...

Another nice surprise was to see the whole Luca Appino family in Smrikve… Patrizia, Nicolo and Letizia...

Luca was in UMAG because his alumni Ante Pavic was competing on this ATP tournament…

... we spent a very nice night together with some other friends… a big “kotlovina” dinner… quite special…

... and as usual Luca was there to help another little dream became reality… to one Rafael Nadal big fun he provided a big hug via WhatsApp :))...

For me it is always a pleasure to meet kids who like to learn… and I love to spend time with them…

... and, among others, over the last weeks there was a family from Scotland… they stayed with us for two weeks… and all 3 children are big tennis lovers…

I spent some nice moments on the court sharing my knowledge with all of them: Lloyd, Hazel and Cathal... nice kids ;)...

From Holland I had pleasure to spend a week time with Milan Gal another very talented boy… always read to improve and learn… a big fighter and hard working young player…

He is training with some historical Smrikva Bowl friends in Holland and I was glad that after only a week time both me and him were impressed by some little tips he was able to incorporate in his game ;)...

... and also I am having pleasure to see again Lara Stojanovski and her family…

She is spending her tennis vacation with family and friends in Smrikve… year after year… and her talent keeps growing… and her sister is always there to help collect the balls… a great start ;)...

... we spend each night reading inspiring stories… every night before going to sleep tennis stories… ;)

... and not only Lara and Tara like to hear it but also Sale and Tomo enjoy them too :)...

... also Charlise from Genova is here with her grandparents… Smrikve is her summer home :)... and they all in their group usually compete for an ice cream… almost every training ;)...

Romy Bitorajac with her father Dario and family… and some friends… also visited us :)

Romy is currently training and Clijster Academy… and it was a pleasure to see her… on the court she reminds me Ajla Tomljanovic very much…

Marko Boltuzic visited us also and enjoyed playing with Dasha, Karlo and Max…

and Dasha... Daria Solovyeva just recently returned from Bulgaria where she played one final and won one Category 1 tournament under 16 although she is still only 14 years old… and this helped her to reach #6 ranking on ETA under 14 ranking list… it is her best ranking :)... and now she is again on the tour ;)...

... it was a big pleasure to see Borna Coric and his family in Umag… and even more pleasure to look how he brought his talent towards his 100% potential… impressive…

I had pleasure also to see Mili Poljicak... this year first seed player from Split… he enjoyed with his father some matches the same Chin and me and other friends did this year…

... we spent nice time on the court and off the court… tasting excellent food at Buscina, Nono and Pergola restaurants that were associated with this year ATP…

... and not only UMAG but also Motovun (Motowhat) Konoba Mondo experience and Feral remain the experience :)...

... and for the end while more and more kids are visiting us as usual during the summer time… I wish to share one saying the following picture reminds me…

... it is Antoine de Saint-Exupéry saying… and he beleived that: Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction…. “Ljubav ne zahtjeva da dvoje ljudi gledaju jedno u drugo, već da zajedno gledaju u istom pravcu”....

Daniel Rincón and Alejandro Turriziani recently crowned under 12 doubles Champions in Spain

I just received the news from Daniel’s father that Daniel and Alejandro won doubles at under 12 National Championship just concluded in Spain…

...and their first double experience started with victory of “IGRA” game during their Smrikva Bowl :)

They are both extraordinary single players too… Alejandro Turriziani won 18th Smrikva Bowl 2013 while Daniel Rincon reached the semifinals during the same edition…

The Finals and Awarding ceremony day of the 19h annual started with the Staff gathering…

Smrikva Bowl finals are played since 1996 with linesman and ball boys… and at 8:30 AM everything was ready for the final act of this year 19th Smrikva Bowl 2014 Opera… :)

Today Tea played better than Aliona and crowned herself the 19th Smrikva Bowl 2014 girls Main Draw winner… last year they both played Consolation draws at Smrikva :)...

It was a very particular edition… and I hope most of the kids will get a little of inspiration to keep developing their tennis talent… another great week of tennis in Smrikve…

19th Smrikva Bowl 2014 – tennis tournament for boys and girls under 10 – gathered 126 boys and girls from 35 countries. It was another successful annual and Smrikva Bowl from this year counts its Ambassadors in 64 countries and all the continents.

John Brady from UK, living in Thailand, won the boys finals, while Tea Lukic from Serbia, living in Germany, won the girls finals.

The winners won, among other, the mountain bikes – the traditional Smrikva Bowl prize – a week stage at Patrick Mouratoglou Academy in Paris, and Wilson International contract.
